TP turns 6

For TP's birthday this year, he decided on a "not-too-big" birthday party at home. After multiple discussions and some tough decision making, we agreed to have a pizza making and balloon sculpturing party.

Here's Mun Shook preparing the pizza dough. I suppose TH is supervising.
The balloon lady, June, doing the balloon sculpturing workshop
Her patience with 15 screaming kids is really remarkable
HY having fun with TP's classmates
TP and Dominic listening intently. In fact, Dominic was clearly the best student as he sat through the entire 1.5 hours in front of the balloon lady
TP's Birthday cake. Mun Shook Mei baked the base layer while TP put on the decorations

The pinata about the get whacked!
The simple pleasures of childhood - free candy. Pity the donkey pinata though
TH and TI. Looks like they had a good time
Our Birthday boy once more. Happy Birthday TP!

Kinderland Lantern Festival

When we went for the Kinderland Lantern Festival this year, it dawned on us that it was a sort of coming of age for us. We had been attending this event every year that we had been in town since HY first went to Kinderland in 2002. We realised that this would be our last year attending the Kinderland activities as parents since TP would be moving on to Primary 1 next year. Of course, the big event for this year would be TP's Graduation Concert on 31 Oct. From next year onwards, we may still continue to go for the Kinderland activities, but as Uncle, Aunty and cousins of TI, who's the current Bib-Boy there.

NDP Preview

We managed to get a couple of tickets to the NDP Preivew this year. Also managed to get one for TH. This year, it was held at Marina Bay for the 2nd year running since the National Stadium was supposed to be re-constructed. We thought the backdrop of the city skyline looked great, minus the ongoing construction for the Integrated Resort. Expectedly, the kids had a great time, all with their personal favourites.

TP and TH looking on intensely

TH's favourite item was to wave the flag. He looks really busy multi-tasking in this photo - waving the flag, eating, drinking and posing for the camera all at the same time

The Red Lions are always one of our favourite items

The Black Knights was obviously TP's favourite

It started with the Mexican Wave. Then we had the Kallang Wave. Guess this must be the Marina Bay Wave

HY was really brave this time. She didn't mind the noise from the Black Knights and fireworks this time. Guess the earplugs did help a bit

And here are some photos of the city skyline from dusk to night
