23 Apr 06, Skiing at Les Arcs

Panorama of the Alps from Les Arcs

For Easter break, we decided to go skiing again since the kids enjoy it a lot more than visiting churches, museums, and chateaux ... the typical European touristy agenda. This time, we stayed at Les Arcs 1950, which is located 1950 metres above sea level on the North French Alps, next to Mont Blanc. The village is really small and beautiful, with no cars at all, and complete ski-in-ski-out facilities. Skiing-wise, the kids have really improved and were able to ski the blue slopes comfortably before the end of the week.
On the way there, we stopped over for a night at Lyon as we didn't want to arrive at the mountains at night, in the dark, with suspect weather and road conditions. We celebrated Dada's birthday in Lyon, and bought him a Sudoku book as well, which kept him very occupied at Les Arcs while not watching the kids ski.
