Sydney 6-15 June 08

For the June holidays this year, we decided to go to Sydney, again. On the one hand, we don't get to visit other places that we've not been to. On the other hand, the kids are assured of a good time with their cousins. Plus, we save on accommodation and car rental.

Being winter in Sydney, we decided to go skiing in Thredbo again. The timing, however, wasn't so good being the first weekend of the ski season in Australia. Hence there was barely any snow and only the beginner slope was open. Nonetheless, the kids had a great time playing together. Here are some photos of the kids having fun on the slopes.

The accommodation we got this time around was pretty good because it was really close to Friday Flats. Plus Chaaron's and Cherine's apartments were all within about 25m.

Back in Sydney, we did a farm visit this time around. The Mowbray farm is located near Picton, about 1 hour SW from Sydney. The usual farm activities include feeding the animals, milking the cow and pony rides. Half-expectedly, HY and TP weren't too keen to feed the animals, especially TP, who really disliked a black goat there who never stayed in his enclosure.

All the kids love Fudge, the Shetland pony. Despite being 22 years old, he's still very fit and good natured.

Mystique, the most stubborn of the riding ponies

Besides animals, there are quite a few activities on Mowbray farm for adults and kids alike. This includes archery, boomerang throwing, and whip cracking. The next 2 photos show HY and TP doing archery. Note the arrows leaving the bows in both photos.
