National Inter-School Gymnastics

Sports-wise, this has been a busy week for HY and TP. HY had her National Inter-School Gymnastics Competition at Bishan on 19 Apr, while TP took part in the Inter-School Sailing at NSC on 19 and 20 Apr (to be updated in the next blog).

HY competed in the A Division this year, doing the Level 4 routines mainly because she was still recovering from her injured fingers. In a way, this was good because she had done the Level 4 before and was thus confident going into the competition. It was also advantageous for her to compete in the A Division because some of the good gymnasts her age competed in the B Division, mainly because of their school team strategies.

She finished the competition winning 3 of 4 apparatus (floor, bar and beam), while attaining 2nd in the vault. She also won the individual all around champion for the A Division Girls. MGS also did well to win the C Division Stage 2 trophy. We're all really pleased with the results. More importantly, we were extremely happy that despite having a nasty fall off the bar during the warmup, she got back up after a few minutes and went on to win the apparatus.

I couldn't resist this photo because I think Nadine looks great here. I think this is the ultimate for planking - planking with levitation
